In Doha, normal board fast is destroyed by the heat and coastal humidity. Whether moisture resistant, fire rated, acoustic or thermal. We bring the right gypsum board for conditions in Qatar and install it to finish that lasts. No hidden fees, no running away with your money.
Regular gypsum board is just a layer of gypsum plaster squeezed between two sheets of paper facing. That works for decades in a temperate climate. In Qatar, it may fail within a year.
The problem is the combination: 50°C summer heat, 80-90% coastal humidity in areas like The Pearl and Lusail, and violent temperature swings between air-conditioned interiors and the outdoor environment. Standard board absorbs moisture vapor, loses its rigidity, and begins to sag at the joints. The paper facing bubbles. Mold finds its way in. By the time you see it on the surface, it has already been happening behind the paint for months.
Most contractors in Doha ignore this. They price-chase using the cheapest board available, put it up fast, and are gone before the problems show. What you’re left with is a ceiling that waves under the light, cracks at every joint when the building temperature shifts, and needs ripping out and redoing within two or three years.
We don’t work that way. We specify the correct gypsum board type for every location in your build, moisture resistant board for wet zones, fire rated gypsum board for commercial corridors and escape routes, acoustic board for bedrooms and meeting rooms, thermal board for exterior walls. No single board fits every situation, and we won’t pretend otherwise to win a cheap job.
Want to know the gypsum board price in Qatar for your specific project? We give you an itemized, written quote board grade, framing spec, labor, and finish before work starts.
The ceiling of gypsum board is only as good as the frame that reinforces it. We used high-gauge galvanized steel. Not the flimsily-crafted every-which-way channel that foam crews use to achieve a lower price point. Galvanized steel withstands rust that bare metal succumbs to thanks to Qatari humidity. Heavier gauge means that the frame does not flex with seasonal temperature cycles accompanying a building. It looks so flat because the bones that make up the structure of your skeleton beneath are not shifting.
Every suspension hanger we hang is anchored to the structural main slab. We never suspend ceilings from plasterwork, block walls or secondary surfaces. In Qatar, this is important since buildings vary greatly their size over the temperature range that winter and summer provide. The ceiling is tethered, but only to non-structure and will one day come away as the building moves. The slab sits anchored to the ground.
The number one complaint we hear from people who have someone do work for them elsewhere is cracking at gypsum board ceiling joints. This is most often caused by a rush in the jointing — skipping coats, not feathering out wide enough or cheap compound that shrinks too much when it dries.
We do three coats minimum of jointing compound; the base coat, where we embed reinforcing tape; the filler coat, which is feathered wide from the seams/edges and finally the finish coat sanded smooth. The last coat is always completely dry between two. It takes longer. The joints don’t come back.
Our teams cover the full range of Qatar’s residential and commercial areas. We serve in Doha, West Bay, The Pearl, Lusail City (or; Lusail), Al Waab (or: al-wabb), Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah (or; wakrah) & Al Khor & Industrial Area. We have familiarised ourselves with building types in every location: the pneumatic systems for the high-rises across Lusail towers, villa build standards across Al Rayyan, mixed commercial-residential projects at West Bay.
The gypsum board size in Qatar follows the standard regional dimensions 1200mm x 2400mm (4’x8′) for most wall and ceiling work; 1200mm x 3000mm is offered in the world of commercial building projects complete with higher ceilings. Thickness is 9.5mm for lightweight applications and up to 15.9mm and 18 mm for fire rated assemblies. We will specify the appropriate gypsum board size for your ceiling height and application before we provide a quote.

1. Material Transparency — You See What Goes Up We use approved brand boards including knauf gypsum board and we open every package in front of you before installation. The Qatar market has a real problem with substituted materials: a contractor quotes a premium board, a cheaper one goes up, and you only find out when problems appear. We don’t work that way. The material on the quote is the material on the wall.
2. Laser-Level Precision — No Waves, No Shadows A ceiling that isn’t truly flat shows every imperfection the moment you turn on recessed lighting. We use laser leveling to set the ceiling grid before a single board is attached. The result is a flat plane that holds its level across the entire room not a surface that looks flat until the lights go on.
3. Written Quote, Written Warranty You get an itemized price in writing before work starts and a written workmanship warranty when it finishes. If a joint cracks or a board sags due to our installation within the warranty period, we come back and fix it at zero cost. We put this in writing because we are confident in the work, not because we expect to need it.
4. Honest Pricing — No Hidden Costs We price gypsum board work in Qatar based on actual board grade, framing spec, area, and complexity. No low-ball figure to win the job followed by additions. No “site access charges” that appear on the final invoice. The number we quote is the number you pay.
5. Commercial and Residential — Same Standard Whether it is a single bedroom ceiling or a multi-floor commercial fit-out, the framing specification, board grade, and finishing standard are the same. We do not have a “residential grade” process and a “commercial grade” process. We have one standard.
Stop paying to fix someone else’s cheap work. We supply and install gypsum board across Qatar from false ceilings, partitions, fire rated systems, acoustic walls, to custom Majlis designs with transparent pricing and a written warranty on every job.
Gypsum board better known as drywall or plasterboard is a building panel consisting of a gypsum plaster core encased in a layer of paper or fiber-glass facing. Since it is economical to install, paint, and texture acceptance and core treatment producing fire resistant, moisture resistant, or acoustic attributes it is utilized for false ceilings, interior partition walls, and wall linings. The gypsum board must be selected carefully in Qatar, more so than in most climates, due to the heat and humidity.
The price of gypsum board in Qatar varies depending on the type of board and thickness, as well as whether it is supply only or supply and installation. A standard board at 12.5mm is cheaper than moisture resistant, fire rated, or acoustic versions. To give a general idea: installing a simple flat false ceiling in a bedroom typically starts from about QAR 25–45 m, inclusive of materials and labor, and rises to much higher for custom designs, cove lighting, and other premium finishes. That is why we are ready to submit precise, detailed written quotations just give us your room sizes and we will quote your project accurately.
The difference is not cosmetic: standard board will begin absorbing moisture within months in Qatar’s climate, leading to warping, mold growth, and paint failure. Our wet-zone installations come with a written warranty specifically because we use the right materials.
A commonly used gypsum board size in Qatar is 1200mm x 2400mm (4 feet x 8 feet) in 12.5 mm thickness for normal wall and ceiling applications. In commercial projects where the floor-to-ceiling height is larger, 1200mm x 3000mm sheets will avoid horizontal joints during installation. 15.9mm thickness is a normal for single-layer applications, or two layers of 12.5mm for fire rated assemblies. In the quote, we will specify the size and thickness that is best for your project.
Moisture resistant gypsum board (green board) this type has a water-repellent treated core, and is perfect for dry areas that are exposed occasionally to humidity such as kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms. Although it resists moisture absorption, it is not an appropriate material for being in contact with water or being “soaked” in water continuously. Water-resistant gypsum board or cement board is used for areas that contact water directly, such as behind shower tiles. We designate the correct one for every single use — wet zones we do not use sheetrock, and also in direct get in touch with areas we go with cement board.
Yes. The other part of our work is commercial: office fit-outs, retail interiors, hospitality refurbishment work, building healthcare facilities and institutional buildings. We provide fire rated gypsum board assemblies, acoustic partitions, and QCDD compliance documentation for commercial projects. We are familiar with the challenges of working in occupied buildings under tight commercial timelines.
